The collective agreement

The basis for a strong collective agreement within Seko

  • Higher pay.
  • Improved working hours.
  • Good retirement conditions.
  • Favourable conditions for parental leave.
  • Professional development.
  • And a working environment that does not jeopardise employees' health.

These are some examples of what Seko is fighting to achieve for you and your colleagues. Almost everything about your employment is regulated in the collective agreement.

The collective agreement is something that Seko negotiates with your employer.

We make demands and your employer makes counteroffers.

The result is a level that both parties have agreed to, but which is guaranteed to be significantly better than if the employers themselves had been allowed to determine the conditions.

One important thing to remember is that the collective agreement only sets a lower limit.

This means that no one in your workplace can earn less than what is stated in the agreement. However, it is possible to earn more.

Moreover, the collective agreement is the only one that regulates the minimum wage level in a workplace.

There is no law that determines a minimum wage; theoretically, the minimum wage in Sweden is SEK 0.
